The upcoming season of the Indian Premier League has been badly affected by the outbreak of the Coronavirus. IPL 2020 was slated to start from March 29, however, it was suspended till April 15 because of the Coronavirus. There’s no clarity over the tournament will take place or not.
The cricketers around the world, just like the rest of us are advised to stay at home in order to contain the outspread of this disease. From indulging in hilarious banters with teammates, spreading awareness about the disease to indulging in interactive sessions with fans, our cricketers are making most of their time staying indoors amid coronavirus outbreak.
Meanwhile, over the years Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, these two teams have dominated the Indian Premier League. These two are the most successful teams having won the trophy thrice and four times respectively.
Scyld Berry, a former editor of a leading cricket portal, has come out with a book called “Cricket 2.0: Inside the T20 Revolution”. In the book, there is an excerpt that talks about how the Chennai Super Kings and the Royal Challengers Bangalore have been compared. While there were views from many players, the boldest came from Brendon McCullum.
Brendon McCullum, the Kiwi IPL legend, has played of Chennai Super Kings before he started playing for Royal Challenger Bangalore and explained what’s wrong with the Red army. He said:
“One team gives selection loyalty and works on the team they have; the other chases a perfect team and doesn’t have a blueprint for how they are going to play. “CSK has very little “white noise” around them. RCB have too much,”
Meanwhile, not just the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League, but many other sporting events and tournaments have either been postponed, suspended or canceled or are on their way to get any of them, including Olympics.
