IPL 2020: Dale Steyn Leaves A Beautiful Reply For RCB Fans Ahead Of The Season

IPL 2020 Auction: Dale Steyn is one of the most successful fast bowlers in cricket’s history. In his long and illustrious career for South Africa, Steyn troubled some of the best batters of his generation and established his name as one of the greatest fast bowlers ever.

In the recently concluded IPL 2020 auction, Dale Steyn was bagged BY his former IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for INR 2 crore. RCB’s captain Virat Kohli and Dale Steyn have a lot of respect for each other and RCB’s head coach Mike Hesson revealed that buying the South African fast bowler was one of the top priorities for them.

“We knew we wanted Steyn but we knew if we put a bid on him early, it might have gone up to three or four crores, which would have had flow-on effects,” Mike Hesson said in a video posted by RCB.

“I probably exchanged a couple of hundred messages with Virat [Kohli, the RCB captain] for a couple of hours. I think he thought we went to sleep in the middle for a couple of hours as well, but he was well aware of what our planning was. He was keen at the end, as we were, to get Udana and Steyn,” Hesson added.

On Saturday, Dale Steyn took to Twitter to interact with his fans and initiated a Q&A on his timeline. He answered many questions but the best one came from ESPNcricinfo.

Dale Steyn tweeted:

Questions anyone? I got some free time

And ESPNcricinfo’s Twitter handled asked:

What can we expect in Part 3, Dale? ? pic.twitter.com/iJHLOP5nsX

To which Dale Steyn replied:

Many fans and pundits believe that Dale Steyn has surpassed his best and he is not capable of making the impact he used to until a couple of years ago. But, we would like to remind all those that form is temporary but class is permanent. We are hopeful the good old Steyn will once run in hard and destroy the woodwork at the IPL 2020. Watching Dale Steyn bowl fast in one of the most delightful sights in the game of cricket.
