With IPL 2020 almost upon us, fans cannot hold on to their excitement anymore, thanks to an 8-month long wait, the last time Indian cricketers took the field. The excitement is building and speculations are shooting through the roof. Even before the fray has started, a miasma kicked in with 13 members of CSK Chennai testing positive for this enraging virus.
Much to the woes of CSK, after the test results returned, Raina decided to part ways with the team and returned home while Harbhajan Singh and Jason Roy followed suit. Though these aren’t really amazing news to start the day with, the social media teams of these franchises are working day and night to put a smile back on their face.
Recently with the entire ruckus that was created around Messi after the Argentine striker wanted to leave Barcelona, the social media team of Royal Challengers Bangalore milked the situation out to its fullest potential.
We are all aware of the fact that cricketers do play football before the start of their practice sessions in order to improve their team bonding, their flexibility, and most importantly complete their warm-up.
Sharing a snap of RCB’s football session, their social media team posted a cheeky dig at the God himself, citing, “We heard Messi was looking for some new teammates.”
The entire world descended into chaos when Messi announced his intention to say goodbye to the club that gave him his existence. In fact, things went to such an extent that VfB Stuttgart, a Bundesliga club came up with a crowd-funding campaign to raise 900 million Euros to get Messi on board.
Leaving everyone dejected, Messi clarified that he is staying with the Catalans for another year. His words were, “I wasn’t happy and I wanted to leave. I have not been allowed this in any way and I will stay at the club so as not to get into a legal dispute. The management of the club led by Bartomeu is a disaster.”
As IPL 2020 will be kicking off from 19th September, Chennai and Mumbai will come face to face for a clash of the titans in the tournament opener.
