Rajasthan Royals (RR) Sanju Samson is a delight to watch when he gets going, however, the cricketer was receiving criticism because of his inconsistent performances. On Monday, during the IPL 2022 clash against Kolkata Knight Riders, Samson smashed his second half-century of the ongoing season at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Asked to bat first, Rajasthan Royals started their innings on the worst-possible note as they lost their opener Devdutt Padikkal in the second over itself. Jos Buttler formed a partnership with Sanju Samson.
The KKR bowlers bowled brilliantly, especially Umesh Yadav who kept it tight in the Powerplay and also got the early wicket. All thanks to the brilliant bowling spells by KKR bowlers, RR couldn’t get going, despite Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson getting starts.
Sanju Samson played like a lone warrior for his side in the ongoing game, while the others struggled to get going. He was dismissed by Shivam Mavi on the first ball of the 17th over of the game. Samson played a captain’s knock of 54 runs off 49 balls, smashing 7 fours and 1 six.
Rajasthan Royals finished at 152 runs after 20 overs as Shimron Hetmyer 27 (13) in the end smashed KKR’s Southee and Shivam Mavi for a quick push on the scoreboard.
