Kolkata Knight Riders lost the game against Gujarat Titans, however, the combination of Andre Russell with the ball and Rinku Singh on-field produced a dream end to the first innings stole all the limelight on social media.
It was in the 20th over when KKR captain Shreyas Iyer introduced the big all-rounder from West Indies, Andre Russell. It was a brave more from Iyer since Russell was bowling the first over of the game. However, Andre Russell didn’t disappoint his captain by proving why he is almost equally valuable to the side with the ball. Russell conceded only five runs and picked up four wickets.
Besides him, Rinku Singh also had a great day on-field as he took four catches, which included three off Russell’s bowling in the final over. Both the cricketers joined hands and wreaked havoc on the cricket field.
Speaking at the mid-inning break, Russell was all praises for Rinku Singh. He jokingly said that he will give the young cricketer a treat for those catches. He said: “I owe Rinku a dinner, he doesn’t drink, I’ll get him anything (has a laugh at the end).”
Russell now has 10 wickets under his belt in the eight games in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League.
