India’s young wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has become the second most expensive Indian player in the history of the Indian Premier League (fourth overall) after he was bought by the Mumbai Indians on day 1 of the ongoing IPL 2022 mega-auction in Bengaluru on Saturday.
Ishan Kishan, who had entered the mega-auction with the base price of ₹2 crores was bought back by Mumbai Indians for a whopping ₹15.25 crore.
Mumbai Indians had released him ahead of the auction, however, the team was successful in getting him back to the franchise after getting involved in an intense bidding war for the sensational keeper-batter. Mumbai Indians fought hard with the new franchise Gujarat Titans (GT) but eventually, the 23-year-old returned to the MI fold. Ishan was also the first player picked on Day 1 of the IPL 2022 mega auction.
