IPL 2022: Ayush Badoni Smashed A Monstorus Six

Ayush Badoni Smashed A Monstrous Six: A woman had a life-threatening accident while attending the IPL 2022 game between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai, on Thursday evening when a sixer from Lucknow’s Ayush Badoni hit her straight on her head!

With 34 runs needed off 12 balls, there was only one approach to bat in for young Ayush Badoni, who had all eyes on him after coming off a terrific fifty against Gujarat Titans on his IPL debut a few days ago. Shivam Dube was given the task of bowling the 19th over.

Dube started off poorly, dishing out a full ball outside off. Perhaps predicting that Dube will look for the blockhole outside the off stump, Ayush Badoni calmly moved across the line, bent low and swept – SWEPT! – Dube over the deep backward leg boundary, into the stands for a six.

There, one lady, wearing the yellow CSK, tried to catch the ball. She misjudged the pace and trajectory of the ball as it, unfortunately, hit her bang on her head. Thankfully, she seemed fine, however, with her attempts to catch the ball and it took a blow on her head, the woman fan risked a fatal injury. Someone was seen asking her about her wellbeing – also perhaps suggesting not to make such attempts – as she gestured that she felt okay.

Ayush Badoni has got loads of talent: Gautam Gambhir

Ayush Badoni shot in the limelight on his IPL debut, against Titans, with a half-century after coming in to bat at 29/4 and took LSG to a fighting total; the highlight of his knock was a slog sweep six to Rashid Khan and a stunning pull shot six to Lockie Ferguson.

Against CSK then, he calmly finished off the run chase, whacking 19 runs off 9 balls with a couple of maximums.

However, he had been ignored by the DDCA selectors and coach – not ignored anymore – for the past three years after showing signs of promise as an under-19 cricketer in 2018. Now, it was Gautam Gambhir and Vijay Dahiya, both part of LSG’s backroom staff, who got him in the squad and gave him a crack at the IPL.

“Too early to talk too much about him because one innings doesn’t make you a superstar, but he’s got loads of talent, that’s why he’s sitting in this dressing room. We did identify his talent, we’ve seen him for quite a long time because he comes from Delhi but the most important thing for him is to be balance and for us to keep him balanced as well,” Gambhir said of Badoni after his impressive fifty versus Gujarat.
