Fans Are Slamming CSK For Dropping Ambati Rayudu: Defending champions Chennai Super Kings have been trolled a lot more this season than they have been praised for. After the whole Ravindra Jadeja captain and strife with the franchise controversy, the Ambati Rayudu retirement saga has taken fire.

It further grew when Ambati Rayudu was not included in the playing eleven for Sunday afternoon’s game versus Gujarat Titans.

Rayudu had created quite a chaos on Twitter on Saturday afternoon, announcing that he will retire from the IPL at the conclusion of the ongoing season and thanked CSK and Mumbai Indians, the two franchises he’s played for his entire career. However, just as the wishes had started to pour from all corners, Rayudu deleted the tweet minutes after posting it.

Not long after the tweet was deleted, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan talked openly about it to various websites, confirming that Rayudu isn’t retiring at the moment and that it’s only his below-par performances this season which may have influenced him to think of hanging his boots.

“I spoke to him and he is not retiring. He was disappointed with his performance and that’s why he might have put out that tweet. But he has deleted it and he is definitely not retiring…,” Viswanathan told Sportstar.

This season Rayudu has scored 271 runs in 12 matches at a strike rate of 124 with a solitary fifty to his name.

Given CSK have already been eliminated from the playoff race, now, while fans expected Rayudu to continue playing for CSK’s remaining two matches – if he really has made up his mind to retire after this season – CSK stunned them again by excluding him from the eleven against Gujarat.

MS Dhoni at the toss announced four changes, one of which was the outgoing Rayudu along with Robin Uthappa, Dwayne Bravo and Maheesh Theekshana giving opportunities to N Jagadeesan, Mitchell Santner, Prasahtn Solanki and Matheesha Pathirana.

Fans trolled the franchise heavily once again for dropping Rayudu in what could well be his last IPL season. Netizens also discussed more upheaval amongst the franchise and the players.
