It was a hard-to-believe sight as the batting maestro Virat Kohli was dismissed for a golden duck for the second game in a row in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. In the ongoing game between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, Virat suffered his second consecutive golden duck of the ongoing season.
The former RCB captain Virat Kohli was dismissed for a first-ball duck in the previous game against Lucknow Super Giants by Dushmantha Chameera. This time, he was sent back to the pavilion by South African youngster Marco Jansen.
After losing the toss, RCB got off to a horrible start losing its captain Faf du Plessis in the second over of the innings itself with Jansen breaching his defense with a brilliant delivery.
Walking out to bat first in the second over of the game, Virat edged an outswinging delivery to Aiden Markram in the second slip. Janson bowled a stunning 140.5 kph delivery around off and the batter played with hard hands only to edge the ball to the second slip where Aiden didn’t make any mistake.

Following the dismissal, Virat had a wry smile on his face and disappointment in his eyes. He had to take a long walk back to the pavilion and he did so with his head down all the way the pavilion. Virat has been struggling badly with his form and with this second consecutive duck, he has hit a new low in his career.
For the first time in history has registered two ducks in an IPL season. Both have been Golden Ducks. Meanwhile, social media was flooded with reactions from the fans to it. While there were many who came out in support of the cricketer, the others started trolling him left, right and center.
