Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh is hailed as one of the finest spinners to have represented the Indian cricket team. The star bowler has represented the Indian cricket team in many memorable triumphs including the ICC T20 World Cup 2007 and the 2011 ODI World Cup, where he played a crucial role.

Recently, Harbhajan Singh hogged all the limelight after he opined that India’s World Cup triumph was only possible due to teamwork and not just because of the efforts of one player. He took a massive dig at MS Dhoni and his fans for giving the credit of World Cup 2011 win to MS Dhoni.

Harbhajan Singh’s statements came as a part of his IPL 2022 analysis prior to the game between the Delhi Capitals and the Kolkata Knight Riders. Irfan Pathan and Mohammad Kaif were also a part of the show. He had said:

” When Australia wins the World Cup at that time everyone says ‘Australia won the World Cup’. When India wins the World Cup at that time, eveeyone said, ‘MS Dhoni won the World Cup. Toh baaki ke 10 waha lassi peene gaye the?,”

He added: “What did the other 10 players do? What did Gautam Gambhir do? What did the others do? It’s a team game. When 7-8 players play well only then only your team will progress”

This isn’t the first time that someone has reacted this way to MS Dhoni getting the credit for India’s World Cup triumph. It was two years ago when Gautam Gambhir had angrily reacted to a social media post showing the iconic world-cup winning six of MS Dhoni. He had credited the entire Indian cricket team and all the support staff for winning the 2011 World Cup.
