IPL 2022: Here’s What Happened When Some Fans Blamed Anushka For Virat Kohli’s Poor Form

Former India and Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli is having a torrid time with the bat in the ongoing IPL 2022. After 7 innings, Kohli has scored 119 runs at an average of 19.83 – his worst average in an IPL season since 2009.

Only twice in 7 matches has Virat Kohli scored more than 12 runs; in his last knock, versus Lucknow Super Giants, the talisman RCB batter was dismissed for a golden duck! Kohli’s average of 19 is only better than young opener Anuj Rawat’s 18 among RCB batters who have batted in at least 4 innings this season.

The 33-year-old is getting heavily trolled and criticised on social media, and rightly so, for his disappointing show with the bat for RCB this year. However, shamefully, a certain section of netizens are also blaming Kohli’s wife, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, for the cricketer’s dip in form.

These small-minded people have long been after Anushka, not leaving any failure of Kohli to criticise the actress.

Here are some of the pathetic tweets from people who believe marrying to Anushka has brought misfortune for Kohli in the field:

But, thankfully, there were several sensible fans on social media who called out for such a ‘cheap mindset’ of these trolls.

Here are Kohli fans retaliating to the trollers who made derogatory remarks towards the cricketer’s wife.

Speaking about RCB, despite Kohli not being at his dominating best, RCB have found a way to win games, with Dinesh Karthik leading the way with the bat. Glenn Maxwell, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Faf du Plessis have also played crucial hands at times.

Their bowling has received a massive boost in the form of Josh Hazlewood and Wanindu Hasaranga as Harshal Patel and Mohammed Siraj have continued their good form from last season.

RCB are safely sitting at the second position in the points table having won 5 of their 7 matches. Once Kohli gets in his groove, they will become a solid title contendor.
