IPL 2022: Here’s Why Mayank Agarwal Is Missing Today

Punjab Kings are taking on the Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad in an exciting contest at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. However, Punjab Kings is taking against Kane Williamson-led Sunrisers Hyderabad but without their regular skipper Mayank Agarwal.

Well, Shikhar Dhawan will be leading the Punjab Kings side in the ongoing clash as PBKS’ regular skipper Mayank Agarwal is not playing in the contest. Mayank Agarwal isn’t playing in the contest after he injured his toe during a practice session. He was replaced by Prabhsimran Singh.

Dhawan is leading an IPL side after eight years. He last captained Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2014 and interestingly, the match was against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings).

The update on Mayank Agarwal’s health was also confirmed by the stand-in skipper Shikhar Dhawan during the toss. He said:

“Mayank got hit on his toe, he should be fine for the next game. So, there’s just one change for us – Prabhsimran is in. We are performing well without depending on individuals – need to continue playing well as a unit, the bowling can get better, we’re working on it. The team is new and we’re taking time to settle. The toss could be an advantage, it’s a bit sticky, the ball could turn, but if we put up a good total, we can put them under pressure.”
