IPL 2022: Kevin Pietersen Is In Awe Of Liam Livingstone’s Gigantic 117-Metre Six

Kevin Pietersen Is In Awe Of Liam Livingstone’s Gigantic 117-Metre Six: Punjab Kings batter Liam Livingstone lit up the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai on Tuesday, with some fireworks from his bat. He smashed a 10-ball 30 to guide PBKS to an eight-wicket win over Hardik Pandya led Gujarat Titans.

England all-rounder Livingstone wreaked havoc as he smashed the sensational Mohammed Shami for three maximums and two fours, including a gigantic six measurings 117 meters, which turns out the longest six in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League so far.

The stunning shot came in the 16th over bowled by Shami. IT was an angling-in length delivery by Mohammed Shami and Livingstone cleared his front leg and swung his bat with all the power to send the ball to a 117-meter-long journey.

Everyone was left stunned – from cricketers, experts, to fans, watching that gigantic six. The emphatic finish by Livingstone became the most talked-about point from the game last night.

Former cricketer turned commentator Kevin Pietersen was also left in awe of that beautiful six by Liam. In the commentary box, Kevin Pietersen admitted that there have been a few such hits in the cricket world, he said: “I have never seen a six as big as that one”,

Meanwhile, after the game, speaking at the post-match presentation, Livingstone talked about his knock as well as Punjab’s dominant win over Gujarat. He said:

“Swinging hard enough. I didn’t think I was going to bat at one point, nice to go out and hit a few out the middle. I thought Shikhar played beautifully to set it up, and Bhanu [Rajapaksa] with that partnership. It was a big win for us and we needed it, we have played some bad cricket in the last couple of games and it is nice to turn it around. I went up to Mayank and said I fancy going in before you and he said you go in if Bhanu gets out and I go in if Shikhar gets out.”

He added: “We know our roles and also if Mayank is there [in the middle-order] we have more stability. It is all about learning, it is hard to go in and play the way we wanted to as a new team. We played a bit smarter today and you have to play like that on such pitches,”
