IPL 2022: Matthew Hayden Picks 4 Teams That Will Qualify For Play-Offs

The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League is going on in full-swing. Rajasthan Royals, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans are currently at the top of the table with one win each. While it is still early to predict which four franchises will make it to the playoffs, former Australia cricketer Matthew Hayden, who was once a proud Orange Cap winner gave his views regarding the same.

Matthew Hayden, who played for the Chennai Super Kings during his Indian Premier League career, believes that CSK are capable of winning TATA IPL 2022 and retaining the title despite a change in their captaincy.

Apart from CSK, Hayden picked Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore in his top-4. However, he left Mumbai Indians in his Top 4 this time.

Recently, during an episode of Cricket Live on Star Sports, the official broadcaster of TATA IPL, Matthew Hayden said:

“CSK will be the first team I wish to see in the top four. I am actually going to leave Mumbai Indians out of that. I’ll have Delhi across in the list and then Kolkata. And then pretty much like last year, I think RCB have a really good side. So these are my top four picks,”

He added: “Their top-order saw a rare batting collapse in the first game but there’s a lot of experience in the side and I am sure they’ll come back stronger in the next game. They missed Moeen Ali in the tournament opener and he will be available for selection in the next match. CSK have it in them to it pull off and that makes them a dangerous side,”

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings will be locking its horns against Lucknow Super Kings tonight in game number 7 of IPL 2022.
