Meet Bhutan’s Only Cricketer Mikyo Dorji: The IPL is a platform known to give young and unknown talents a chance to learn from the best in the world and play in the biggest franchise cricket on the planet. There have been so many Indian and overseas players who have been unearthed courtesy of the IPL.
Last week, the BCCI announced the final list of a total of 1,214 players that have been registered for the upcoming IPL 2022 mega-auction next month. Of these, 896 are Indians and 318 are overseas players.
The two-day mega auction, on February 12 and 13, will see 10 franchises bid for some of the top cricketers in world cricket to bolster their squad – over 200 players are expected to be bought – after having finalized their retentions and picks earlier. The players list incorporates 270 capped, 903 uncapped and 41 Associate players.

Mikyo Dorji recently participated in the Everest Premier League, in Kirtipur, Nepal. Mikyo Dorji was a regular feature in Bhutan’s team during the unofficial matches in the ICC World Twenty20 Asia Region Qualifier B in 2019.
Mikyo Dorji has played in one T20I, versus Nepal in 2019, in which he scored 27 runs; he showed his power-hitting capability in that innings as he thumped 4 sixes in his knock. Dorji would be hoping for an IPL franchise to show interest in his services.
