The MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings produced a stellar show at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai as they defeated Delhi Capitals by a big margin of 91 runs. With this win, CSK has kept its hopes alive for the IPL 2022 play-off.

While it was a crucial do-or-die game for the Chennai Super Kings, the game witnessed some lighter moments. One of those moments involved legendary captain MS Dhoni and his CSK teammate Dwayne Bravo.

The incident took place during the 17th over of Delhi’s innings when Anrich Nortje smashed the Maheesh Theekshana’s delivery towards the cover area. Dwayne Bravo, who was standing at the cover area, made a stunning effort as he dived to stop the single.

MS Dhoni said, “well done old man” to Dwayne Bravo when Bravo stopped the ball.

Later, Bravo revealed the conversation he had with MS Dhoni during the last over of Chennai’s innings. Bravo revealed how he urged the captain to hit boundaries rather than take singles. He said:

“Well, for me it was a hat-trick ball. I wanted to make sure I get him on strike. I told him to hit boundaries, not push me for twos,”

“I told him after the innings ‘MS, 3 balls to again (if such a situation comes again), let someone else go and run because I have to protect my hamstring.”

He added:

“But if felt good to be batting with a great. I thought it was a great professional team display, it started with Rutu and Conway. The way they set up the game with their batting (Was good) and then we finished off with the ball as well. Every game we play, we have to play like professionals and look to dominate.”

Meanwhile, CSK is currently sitting at 8th position with 8 points, having won 4 out of the 11 games they have played so far.
