The old guard Chennai Super Kings will take on newbie Lucknow Super Giants in the 7th match of IPL 2022, on Thursday at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
Both the teams are coming off disappointing results in their opening game of IPL 2022. The Super Kings lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in a rather one-sided contest in the opening match of IPL 2022, managing a below-par total of 131 which KKR chased down with 6 wickets in hand. The Super Giants had a closer game against Gujarat Titans: they put up 158 which the Titans overhauled with only 2 balls to spare.
IPL 2022: CSK team news and predicted XI

As far as the player availability goes, CSK will be bolstered by the addition of Moeen Ali, who missed the first match against KKR due to being in quarantine after arriving late. The England all-rounder will replace Devon Conway, who failed on his IPL debut, and slot likely at number 3; that would mean either Robin Uthappa or Ambatai Rayudu will be sent to open alongside Gaikwad.
Deepak Chahar, though, remains unfit and CSK will continue to miss his all-round presence.
CSK predicted XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja (c), Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni (wk), Dwayne Bravo, Mitchell Santner, Adam Milne, Tushar Deshpande
IPL 2022: LSG team news and predicted XI
The Lucknow Super Giants will not be at their full strength squad again as all-rounder Marcus Stonis is currently in Pakistan for limited-overs series. Another all-rounder, West Indian Jason Holder, is also likely to miss the game against CSK having only recently been part of the Test series against England. There’s no news on the availability of Andrew Tye, the replacement of Mark Wood, for this game.
LSG are expected to stick to the eleven that played against Gujarat Titans. Their top order was blown away by some high-quality pace bowling and their bowlers did well to keep them alive till the last over.
All-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham, though, could come into the eleven, replacing Mohsin Khan.
LSG predicted XI: KL Rahul (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Evin Lewis, Manish Pandey, Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Krishnappa Gowtham, Dushmantha Chameera, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan
