IPL 2022: Rohit Sharma’s Gesture For Dewald Brevis Has Won Many Hearts

Rohit Sharma’s Gesture For Dewald Brevis Has Won Many Hearts: Mumbai Indians’ captain Rohit Sharma is hailed as one of the most successful leaders in the T20 format. After taking over the captaincy responsibilities from Ricky Ponting in 2013, Rohit Sharma has led Mumbai Indians to five title wins.

However, Rohit Sharma and his squad had a forgetful season this year as they are currently sitting at the bottom of the IPL 2022 points table, having lost nine out of the 12 matches they have played so far. This is for the first time in 15 years that the five-time champions will finish last.

Besides his team performance, Rohit had a horrible experience as a batter as well. In the 12 games he has played so far, he has managed to score only 218 runs to his name. Not a single half-century has come from Rohit. However, despite his poor outing in the ongoing season, Rohit has won the hearts of his fans with his beautiful gesture for his teammate from South Africa, Dewald Brevis.

Well, while participating in one of the interviews for Mumbai Indians, Rohit humbly asked the 19-year-old Dewald Brevis, who is fondly called ‘Baby AB’ by the fans, to take center stage and sit in the center chair.

Responding to Sharma, Brevis told Rohit that it was his chair and he couldn’t sit on it, but he requested that Brevis enjoy the moment and take the center seat with a smile on his face. The video of the same has been going viral on the internet.

Talking about the performance of Dewald Brevis, he impressed one and all with his performances in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. Brevis has featured in six out of the 12 matches Mumbai Indians played in the ongoing season and scored 124 runs at an average of 20.67 and a strike rate of 155.
