Chennai Super King’s young opener Ruturaj Gaikwad finally made head turns as he bounced back to form on Sunday against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MCA Stadium in Pune.
Gaikwad, who impressed one and all with his terrific performances and rocked the Orange Cap last season, was seen struggling to score runs in the ongoing 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League. However, after having a quiet season as the opener of Chennai Super Kings, Gaikwad has finally made a stellar return to form as he smashed an impressive knock of 99 runs against SunRisers Hyderabad.

He was well supported by Devon Conway from the other end, who also played a terrific knock of 85 runs. All thanks to the batting heroics of Gaikwad and Conway, CSK posted a mammoth target of 202/2 on the scoreboard after 20 overs.
Ruturaj and Conway together broke several records during their magnificent knocks. While Gaikwad equaled the batting great Sachin Tendulkar’s record of smashing 1000 runs in 31 IPL innings. They also registered the fourth-highest opening partnership in the history of the tournament. The opening partnership of 182 is also the biggest partnership for any wicket by a CSK pair.
