IPL 2022: Suresh Raina Posted A Beautiful Message For Ambati Rayudu

Suresh Raina Posted A Beautiful Message For Ambati Rayudu: Finally, Ruturaj Gaikwad broke his rut of poor form in IPL 2022, brilliantly scoring 73 runs off 48 balls in Chennai Super Kings’ total of 169 versus Gujarat Titans. He was ably supported by veteran batter Ambati Rayudu, who scored 46 off 31 balls and en route crossed the 4000-run mark in the IPL.
Gaikwad had managed just 35 runs in the first five innings of the season. And while everyone knew that a big knock from the youngster was just around the corner, the question was when as his side had succumbed to 4 defeats in 5 matches.

Gaikwad stepped up versus Gujarat. With the in-form Robin Uthappa dismissed early followed by Moeen Ali, CSK really needed their last season’s Orange Cap winner to get back to his best. He did.
In his typical fashion, the opener bided his time at the start, scoring 9 runs in 7 balls, before he took on Yash Dayal for a four and six followed by attacking strokes resulting in boundaries off Shami and Joseph, taking CSK to 39/2 at the end of the powerplay.

The pair was then tied down by the spin of Rashid Khan and the pace of Ferguson. They retaliated with a six each to Gaikwad and Rayudu to Joseph as Gaikwad got to his fifty with a nonchalant flick and both the right-handers took down Dayal in a 19-run over.

Gaikwad got into his groove and asserted his class first by pulling Ferguson over deep mid-wicket before sending the Kiwi speedster over extra cover. Rayudu thumped Rashid for another maximum but got out to Joseph ending a superb 92-run stand from 56 balls. Gaikwad also got out soon after Rayudu’s dismissal, Dayal finally getting the CSK opener.

This partnership not just put CSK in a dominant position in the game – as the Titans’ batting looks really thin in absence of the injured Hardik Pandya – but it might also be the boost CSK needed to revive their season.

Former CSK batter Suresh Raina, who is in the commentary panel this season, wrote a tweet praising both Gaikwad and Rayudu for their commendable partnership.

“It was so great to see such a stunning partnership on the field @Ruutu1331 & @RayuduAmbati Congratulations @RayuduAmbati for completeing a huge milestone of 4000 runs. Keep going #CSKvGT,” Raina tweeted.
