Fans and experts are craving a big knock from the MI captain on his special day as he has struggled for a significant innings in the ongoing IPL 2022. In 8 innings, Sharma has managed 153 runs at an average of 19.12 while striking at a mediocre 126 with a best of 41. As many as 6 batters – including pacer Jaydev Unadkat – have a better average this season so far than the MI opener.

As a consequence of their skipper’s own dipping form, MI as a unit have also been unable to get even a single victory in their 8 matches so far. Having lost all their matches so far, the five-time champions are virtually eliminated from the playoff race. They will take on the second-placed Rajasthan Royals on Saturday evening at the DY Patil Stadium.

The Mumbai Indians squad celebrated Rohit’s birthday with a special blue and orange cake. The franchise uploaded the video in which the opener cuts the cake; his wife Ritika is alongside him and other players also feed him the cake.
