Gesture Of Yashasvi Jaiswal After Getting Dismissed Has Won Many Hearts: Table-toppers Gujarat Titans got off to a good start in the Qualifier 1 against Rajasthan Royals at the Eden Gardens as left-arm pacer Yash Dayal dismissed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, the left-hander scoring only 3 runs off 8 balls.
But, it was Yashasvi Jaiswal’s honesty which got him plenty of praise from the fans who applauded him for showing great Spirit of Cricket.
In the third over, Dayal had built up the pressure on Jaiswal with four consecutive dot balls followed up by a bouncer on which the opener got two runs.
Jaiswal may have been expecting another short ball as his feet didn’t move while his bat looked for a drive on the next ball, which Dayal bowled full, moving away from the batter. Jaiswal saw the full ball and attempted a booming drive but only managed an outside edge, pouched by Wriddhiman Saha.
Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Heart Winning Gesture:

Saha, Dayal, and Gujarat Titans fielders went up straightaway in celebration, convinced of the edge. But their faces changed when umpire Bruce Oxenford didn’t raise his finger. As GT would have been pondering for a review, they saw Jaiswal leave the pitch and walk back to the dressing room, only after which Oxenford raised his finger and the GT players resumed their celebration.
This gesture by the young RR opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal, was hailed by Twitterati as a mark of Spirit Of Cricket.
Here are some of the best reactions:

Yashasvi Jaiswal walking away after the wicket, without even Umpire’s confirmation is the kind of confidence everyone need to have in their life!

Class act by the young Yashasvi Jaiswal. Walked away even when the umpire did not give him out in such a big match knowing he was out.#Respect #GTvsRR #YashasviJaiswal

Meanwhile, RR have put on a big total of 188/6 on the board. First, it was skipper Sanju Samson who smashed 47 off 26 balls. Then, Jos Buttler, riding on his luck of dropped catches and misfield, raised his fifty off 42 balls but then teed off spectacularly to end up with 89 off 56 balls.
