Bhuvneshwar stole the show with the ball as he ran through the batting lineup of Gujarat Titans. Bhuvi returned with the figures of 5/30 in his four-over quota. This five-wicket haul by Bhuvneshwar is the second one after Lucknow Super Giants’ Mark Wood, who finished with 5/14 in four overs. It was also Bhuvi’s second five-wicket haul in the history of IPL, having last picked up in 2017.

Bhuvi started the innings with a bang for SunRisers Hyderabad by giving an early breakthrough to his side. The thrilling encounter between the two sides kicked off with an early breakthrough by SRH pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar as he sent Gujarat Titans’ opening batter Wriddhiman Saha packing.

This wicket came off in the third delivery of the game when Bhuvneshwar bowled a precise delivery to Wriddhiman Saha. The ball was pitched back of a length outside off, tempting the veteran batter to play a shot away from his body. Saha could only manage to get a faint edge on the ball, which eventually resulted in a catching opportunity for SRH.

In the mid-innings interview, Bhuvneshwar said: “When we were 16 down, we thought if we keep them close to 200 it would be good, but restricting them to 189 was great. Till 19th over, the wicket looked good to me. When it came to the second over, it did not swing much. When I came back for the last 2 overs, I tried to use the dimensions.”

He added: “We were thinking to stop them close to 200. Batting unit will be confident to chase this down, especially after chasing more than 200 against Rajasthan. With those big hitters, you have to use those bigger boundaries. You have to back yourself. The moment Shubman got out, we knew they were 10 runs short.”
