IPL 2023 mini-auction is just a day away and the fans have been waiting anxiously for D-Day among the fans. Ahead of the big day, the Mumbai Indians fans have received a good piece of news as the England board has provided a big update on the star bowler — Jofra Archer.
England’s sensational bowler Jofra Archer has been recalled by the board for the first time in over a year after being named in a 14-man squad for an upcoming three-match one-day international series in South Africa. Archer emerged as one of the biggest stars of England’s 2019 50-over World Cup triumph, however, his career has since been blighted by elbow and back injuries. Archer, who plays for Sussex, last played for England in a T20I match against India at Ahmedabad in March 2021, but it is more than two years since he last played in the ODI format.
However, after missing the whole of the 2022 England season because of an injury, Archer has finally returned back in action. He was seen playing for the second-string England team in a warm-up match against the Test side in Abu Dhabi last month ahead of their 3-0 stunning win against Pakistan.
He made a solid return to form as just 6 balls into the practice match, Jofra smashed Zak Crawley on the helmet with a bouncer. On Thursday, the England and Wales Cricket Board issued a statement, announcing the return of the talented bowler. The statement read: “recovering well from an elbow injury and is expected to return to international cricket in South Africa next month”.
