One of the most prosperous IPL teams in history is Chennai Super Kings. Last year, they had a successful auction since they were able to purchase the players they desired. They made a strong effort to acquire Australia’s Glenn Maxwell, but they were forced to withdraw after Royal Challengers Bangalore acquired him for 14.25 CR. Having said that, CSK (Chennai Super Kings) spent a lot of money on a few players at the most recent auction.
Prior to the auction, CSK has a list of players on which they focus their efforts. They have previously employed a similar tactic, which has assisted them in adding some talented players to their roster. Here are the five Chennai Super Kings purchases that cost the most money in IPL history.
Most Expensive players bought by CSK in IPL’s history:

Moon Ali 7 cr
The bidding war was abandoned by Punjab Kings, and CSK acquired Moeen Ali for 7 CR. They were seeking for a batter who could bowl a little because they only had one abroad spot available. In addition to being a potent T20 hitter, Moeen Ali can also be a useful spinner.
Andrew Flintoff 7.6cr
We need to go back to 2009 because Andrew Flintoff was the auction’s main draw at that time for the English all-rounder. Since Flintoff was a quick bowler who could also bat in the middle or lower middle order, most players wanted him on their team.
The English all-rounder was sought after by the most of clubs, but Chennai Super Kings purchased him for 1.55 million dollars or about 7.6 CR in those days. He only appeared in three games and had no effect on CSK; therefore, this move did not work.
Kedar Jadav 7.8cr
Jadhav initially signed on with CSK in the IPL 2018 mega-auction for Rs 7.8 crore. He played a game-winning knock of 24 in the IPL 2018 season opener before being sidelined for the whole campaign. He scored 162 runs the following year before being disqualified from postseason games. He was available for the entire IPL 2020 season for the first time, but he was benched after just six games.
Shane Watson, a seasoned IPL player, has decided to leave the competition, so CSK will be without his services. In addition to Jadhav, Piyush Chawla, Harbhajan Singh, and Imran Tahir are also set to be released by CSK. Their vice-captain, Suresh Raina, is quite likely to re-don the yellow shirt.
Ravindra Jadeja 9.2 cr
Ravindra Jadeja was the only draw at the 2012 IPL Mini Auction. Due to the lack of notable players in the auction, most of the teams had very minimal budgets. When Ravindra Jadeja’s name was mentioned, Chennai Super Kings and Deccan Chargers entered a tiebreaker because both teams had bid at least $2 million.
The Indian all-rounder Jadeja was acquired by CSK for an undisclosed sum, although he received 2 million dollars, which were then converted to 9.2 CR. He remains a crucial component of the CSK setup, therefore it was a wise decision.
Deepak Chahar 14 cr
At the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2022 auction in Bengaluru on Saturday, Chennai Super Kings purchased Indian fast bowler Deepak Chahar for whopping price 14 crore. Chahar was a part of the fast bowlers’ fifth set in the auction. The 29-year-old made his IPL debut in 2016 for the Rising Pune Supergiant’s, where he had five appearances over two seasons and only one wicket. He is one of the destructive bowlers by which he can create pressure and take wickets at regular intervals
