A total of 991 players have registered themselves with the BCCI/IPL for the upcoming IPL 2023 mini-auction. The IPL 2023 mini-auction will be held on December 23 in Kochi. A maximum of 87 players – and maximum of 30 overs – can be bought at the auction if all the 10 franchises fill their squad up to the maximum limit of 25 players.
This list comprises 714 Indian player and 277 overseas cricketers. And 21 players – all overseas – have set their base price at 2 crore. It is the first time in the IPL auction history that there is no Indian player in the highest base price category.
The notable names in the 2 crore base price bracket include England’s all-rounder’s pair of Sam Curran, and Ben Stokes, Australian all-rounder and IPL auction debutant Cameron Green, former SRH stars Kane Williamson and Nicholas Pooran.
This list of 991 players was shared by the IPL with the 10 franchises on Thursday. This list will be pruned further after receiving inputs from the franchises about which players they’d want to see being auctioned. The franchises have until December 9 to get back to the tournament authorities.
