The IPL 2023 Auction might become the first in the history of the tournament to take place outside India. As per a report by Cricbuzz, the BCCI has shortlisted Turkey’s biggest city Istanbul as one of the probable venues for the auction. Cricbuzz reported earlier today that Istanbul and Bengaluru have been shortlisted as the host cities for the next IPL Auction.

IPL 2023 Auction Date:
The IPL 2023 auction is scheduled to take place on December 16, 2022, in Bengaluru or Istanbul. Approximately 650 players are expected to participate.

Well, the BCCI recently confirmed that the upcoming season of IPL will be played in the same home-and-away format as it did prior to the pandemic. Last year, 551.7 crores were spent on players for all 10 teams. Ishan Kishan of Mumbai Indians had emerged out as the most expensive buy.
What will be the IPL 2023 auction purse?
As per the speculations, all the teams would be given a budget of Rs 95 crore for this year’s sale. Notably, there will be an increase of Rs. 5 crore this year, last year the purse money was of Rs. 90 crore.
