The preparations for the upcoming IPL 2023 mini-auction are in full swing and the BCCI has officially confirmed the date for the auction. The much-awaited event will take place on December 23 and will have a 2:30 PM IST start. The BCCI has released an exhaustive list of all the 405 players shortlisted for the upcoming mini-auctions of the IPL 2023. Out of the 405, 273 are Indian players while 132 players are overseas and four players are from associate nations.
As many as 991 players were part of the original list for the auction, however, the list has been pruned to 405. It has to be noted that all the teams have already retained their core squads. Only 87 spots are up for grabs, out of which 30 are overseas.
While the list of players who are going to participate in the mini-auction feature many veterans and junior players, however, there are two former IPL winners who will not be a part of the upcoming IPL 2023 mini-auction.
3 Senior Players Will Not Take Part In IPL 2023 Mini-Auction

The first of the two big names missing from the list of players is — Cheteshwar Pujara. The Indian Test specialist, who was a part of the Chennai Super Kings squad that won IPL 2021, didn’t register himself for the mini-auction this year. The star player went unsold from IPL 2015 to 2020 before he drew a surprising bid from Chennai Super Kings in the year 2021. However, ahead of IPL 2022, Pujara was released by CSK and once again went unsold in the mega auctions. Now with no hopes of getting a franchise, Pujara decided against registering himself for the T20 league.

The second IPL champ who is missing from the list is — Kedar Jadhav. Kedar was also a part of the Yellow Army, which won the IPL trophy in the year 2018. Though, Kedar was a part of the initial list, but he hasn’t been included in the pruned list released by the BCCI. Kedar, who was a part of the CSK squad from the year 2018 to 2020, went unsold in IPL 2022 mega-auctions. He made his last appearance for SunRisers Hyderabad in 2021.

Besides Pujara and Kedar, another capped player who isn’t a part of the list is Hanuma Vihari. According to a report by The Times Of India, just like Pujara, Hanuma Vihari too hadn’t registered for the IPL 2023 mini-auction. He made his last appearance in the IPL for Delhi Capitals in the year 2019.
