This message from Ranveer Singh will give positivity to the Mumbai Indians’ fans and hopes for a better season than they had in IPL 2022 where the five-time champions finished at the bottom of the points table for the time time.
Mumbai Indians had bought Jofra Archer for INR 8 crore in the IPL 2022 mega-auction, despite knowing that the fast bowler is injured and was unlikely to play. In the aim to pair up Archer with Bumrah for the future MI roped in the 2019 World Cup-winning pacer.
He had been troubled with an elbow issue that ruled him out in 2021 and then suffered a stress fracture than saw him miss the entire 2022.
The good news for the franchise and their fans is that Archer is gradually on the process to return to action. Archer has started to bowl in the nets and is training with the England Lions team; Archer is expected to return fit and fresh to the IPL.
“He is currently in the UAE with the England Lions team and is continuing his rehab. He is making excellent progress and the view is that he will be looking to play competitively again during the early part of 2023,” a spokesman for the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) told Cricbuzz.
