RCB: Both AB de Villiers (aka “Mr. 360”) and Chris Gayle (the “Universe Boss”) have flown into Bengaluru for Sunday’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Unbox event. The RCB team announced the presence of the legendary batters by posting photos of them on their social media accounts. Bangalore will be the first side in the Indian Premier League to hold such an event in honour of two former players, AB de Villiers and Gayle. Look at the image below below.

At the RCB Unbox event, spectators will be able to see the team’s first practise and see fan favourites like Faf Du Plessis, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, etc. in action. The 2023 uniform will also be unveiled. Virat Kohli, Chris Gayle, and AB de Villiers, the Bangalore’s Big Three, will all be present.
The Bangalore franchise will induct both AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle into the RCB Hall of Fame and retire their jersey numbers in perpetuity as a tribute to them.

In comparison to De Villiers’s 144 appearances for Bangalore, during which he scored over 5,000 runs at a strike rate of 158.6, Gayle’s 84 appearances for the squad saw him score 3,163 runs at an average of just under 44, with a strike rate of 152.7, with 249 fours and 239 sixes.
In the first match of the next IPL 2023 season, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will host Mumbai Indians (MI) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. After making the playoffs last year, Bangalore lost to Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in the second qualifying round, and ultimately finished in fourth place.
The arrival of AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle will be a massive boost for the Bangalore camp, as they know the franchise inside-out and both are absolute legends of the Indian Premier League. They both are hailed as the biggest hitters in the world of cricket and their experience in these conditions is priceless for the young Royals squad.
