4-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered a bottom table season earlier this year in the IPL 2022. The change of captaincy – from Ravindra Jadeja back to MS Dhoni – encapsulated the torrid season of a team that has always prided on stability. CSK finished with only 4 wins in 14 matches, 9th at the points table, bettering the Mumbai Indians on net run rate.
MS Dhoni’s outfit will aim to bounce back in IPL 2023. For that, they would have to release some of the non-performing or prone to injury players before the auction. Instead of just releasing players, CSK might want to trade their existing players for either other good players who would suit their combination or trade for only cash.
The IPL 2023 auction is likely to take place in mid-December. A month before the auction, the IPL 2023 trading window will open which allows the franchises to make trades.
Here are 3 players CSK might trade out of their squad in the IPL 2023 trading window:

Ravindra Jadeja
The question about Ravindra Jadeja remains a big concern for CSK. The all-rounder was removed as the captain after early losses and then his reason ended prematurely due to an injury. However, after that, it was reported that Jadeja hasn’t been in contact with the franchise.
Jadeja, who was retained for 16 crores, also deleted most of the photos with CSK from his Instagram. Jadeja not playing for CSK, after being unhappy with the franchise, next season is a possibility. For that, CSK and Jadeja may come to agree to either trade him to any franchise that would be looking for a captaincy option.
Adam Milne
Adam Milne featured in just one game for CSK before picking up an injury and was ruled out of the tournament. The Kiwi fast bowler is prone to injury, – he was also ruled out of The Hundred – and hasn’t played a single competitive match after the IPL 2022
If any other team comes asking for a proper overseas fast bowler, CSK might not think much about trading him away from their squad.
KM Asif
Kerala seamer KM Asif has been with CSK since 2018 but has only featured in 3 games so far. And even in the absence of Deepak Chahar in IPL 2022, Asif wasn’t given a single game as Mukesh Choudhary, Simranjeet Singh, and Tushar Deshpande were preferred over him.
With Deepak Chahar returning next year, Asif’s chances of getting in the XI will further decrease. Hence, it could be the best for both the franchise and the seamer that he be traded for perhaps a spinner as CSK will be back at the Chepauk next season.
