The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) [KKR vs RCB] matches in every IPL season is a very anticipated contests among the fans.

Not only KKR and RCB are two of the most followed teams in the IPL, but they are also filled with star Indian and overseas players, thus their games often go down the wire, creating the buzz among the fans.

The IPL 2024 auction will take place on December 19 in Dubai, the first time an IPL auction will be held outside India. While KKR have two IPL trophies and RCB none, RCB have managed to qualify for the playoffs for three straight seasons from 2020 to 2022 and KKR have reached the playoffs only once in the last five seasons.

The IPL had started with a KKR vs RCB game in 2008, which was lit up by Brendon McCullum, and their rivalry remains a storied one, which includes KKR bowling out RCB for the lowest IPL total of 49 runs.

3 players who will be fired up for the KKR vs RCB game in IPL 2024:

Virat Kohli

As it has been for the past decade, all limelight in any game involving RCB will be on their superstar cricketer, Virat Kohli. Kohli will take the field in IPL 2024 with the aim of winning his first IPL trophy.

In 30 matches across competitions against KKR, Virat Kohli has scored 666 runs at an average of 34 with 5 fifties and 1 century.

There is more reason for Virat Kohli to be extra fired up this time against KKR as Gautam Gambhir is back at KKR, in the role of a mentor. Kohli and Gambhir had a heated, verbal tussle last year in Lucknow.

Gautam Gambhir

Though Gautam Gambhir is not a player in IPL 2024, his passion and zeal for the game remain the same today as it was when he was an active cricketer. Gambhir is back in the KKR dugout after six years, more energized and more hungry than ever.

Gautam Gambhir had a blow-out with Virat Kohli earlier this year after the RCB vs LSG game in Lucknow. Fans can expect a fired-up Gambhir when KKR takes on RCB, especially in their own den at the Eden Gardens.

Sunil Narine

He may not show it, but Sunil Narine is a seriously fierce competitor on the field. Narine usually keeps a calm disposition on the field, but inside is a fire burning: Narine doesn’t play international cricket anymore, but he rocks up in the IPL every season and delivers for KKR. Against RCB, Narine has taken 23 wickets and has a terrific economy of 6.4.

Narine has another reason to look forward to the IPL 2024 season – the Eden Gardens surface was low-scoring and spin-friendly in the World Cup recently, as it used to be under Gautam Gambhir. Narine will unleash himself on RCB when he faces them next at the Eden.
