In the first draft of the IPL 2024 Auction, a total of 1,166 players from Indian and across the world have registered themselves. This list will be trimmed down to around 350 players to be up for grabs in the IPL 2024 auction, scheduled for December 19 in Dubai. This is the first time that an IPL auction will be held outside India.
The 10 franchises have a total of 77 available spots.
Once again, the highest base price bracket is INR 2 crore. Only four Indian players – Harshal Patel, Kedar Jadhav, Shardul Thakur, and Umesh Yadav – have put themselves in the 2 crore bracket, and the rest are below INR 1 crore bracket; so far, there is no Indian player in the INR 1.5 crore and 1 crore category.
One big overseas name who has not registered in the IPL 2024 auction is Jofra Archer. He is currently recovering from a major injury.
The World Cup winning group of Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Steve Smith, Sean Abbott, and Travis Head are in the 2 crore bracket for the IPL 2024 auction. So are the likes of Harry Brook, Lockie Ferguson, and Gerald Coetzee.
New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra is in the base price at INR 50 lakhs and Daryl Mitchell at INR 1 crore.
The IPL shared the list of 1,166 players with the franchises, and this list will be chiselded down for the IPL 2024 auction. In this list, there are 830 Indians, and 336 overseas players. The list comprises 212 capped, 909 uncapped, and 45 Associate players.
