More than 1100 players from India and across the globe have registered themselves in the first draft of the IPL 2024 auction. In this list, there are 830 Indians, and 336 overseas players. The list comprises 212 capped, 909 uncapped, and 45 Associate players.
This list will be chiseled down to around 350-400 by the IPL committee in the coming days and the selected players will be up for grabs at the IPL 2024 auction.
There are 77 slots available to be filled by the 10 franchises, out of which a maximum of 30 slots are for overseas players.
November 30 was the deadline day for the players to register themselves for the IPL 2024 auction and submit the NOC from their respective cricket boards. Once again, the Pakistani players are not allowed to participate in the IPL.
The IPL 024 auction is scheduled for December 19 in Dubai. This will be the first time an IPL auction will be held outside India.
The three highest base price categories are INR 2 crore, INR 1.5 crore, and INR 1 crore.
There are 25 players who have put themselves in the INR 2 crore bracket. This includes the Australian players who won the World Cup 2023 recently – Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Steve Smith, Sean Abbott, and Travis Head.
Talking about the INR 1 crore category, there is no Indian in this, but there are a few New Zealand and Australian players in this, along with a couple of Englishmen.
