IPL 2024: Who Is Mayank Yadav? – The Bowler Who Bowled The Fastest Ball Of 155 KPH – Fast bowlers are a work of art on the cricket field. Bowlers bowling over 150km/h is a rare feat. So, whenever some one bowls at that speed, it definitely becomes the headline. Fast bowlers like Shoaib Akhtar and Brett Lee have enthralled the fans with their sheer pace consistently.

Bowling at that pace consistently puts a lot of stress on a bowler’s body, but always poses trouble for the batters. It’s not always that the batters get to face bowlers of that pace. So, they are definitely taken aback when someone bowls at that pace. It is definitely one of the most exciting feat in cricket.

During the current IPL 2024 game between Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab kings, LSG set a target of 200 runs for PBKS to chase in their 20 overs. During the chase, LSG bowler, Mayank Yadav registered a special feat. He became the bowler to bowl the fastest delivery in IPL 2024.

The 21 year old debutant clocked a pace of 155.8 km/h. On the first delivery of the 12th over, he bowled at that pace to a well set Shikhar Dhawan, who got beaten while trying to slash it away. It was an exciting sight to see him clock pace of over 145km/h regularly in his spell. He also picked up three wickets in this game.

Mayank plays for Delhi in domestic cricket. He has featured in 10 T20s and 17 List A games and has scalped 46 wickets. LSG bought Mayan in the IPL 2022 auction for a price of 20 Lakhs INR. He suffered an injury ahead of IPL 2023 and was replaced by Arpit Guleria.

He ended up as the joint highest wicket taker in the Deodhar Trophy in 2023 with 12 wickets at an average of 17.57. He has featured in just one first class game till now and that was in the Ranji Trophy game against Maharashtra in 2022.
