IPL Auction 2017: Irfan Pathan sends out an emotional message to his fans

Irfan Pathan going unsold was the most shocking story of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction 2017. Pathan performed brilliantly with the ball in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy and his fans were hoping that he would carry on his good form to the India Premier League 2017 and push selectors for a spot in India’s limited-overs squad. But, much to their disappointment, no team showed interest in Pathan and he remained unsold in the auction.

On Tuesday, the Baroda all-rounder took to social media and posted an emotional message to his fans, who were all very upset after he went unsold in the IPL auction 2017. Pathan thanked his fans for their never-ending support and promised that he would get through this hurdle as well. He also recalled the time in 2010 when he was told he might not be able to play cricket again after suffering from five fractures in his back.

“In 2010, I had undergone 5 fractures in my back. The physio had told to me that I might now be able to play cricket ever again and should rather give up on my dream. At that point of time I told him, I can bear any pain but cannot the bear the pain of not playing this beautiful game for my country.”

Stating that he has gone through the tough grind before Pathan wrote, “I worked hard and not only played cricket again but made a come back to the India team. I have faced many obstacles in my career and life but never gave up, that’s the character I have and will possess.”
