Afghanistan’s spinner Rashid Khan was sold for INR 3 crore in the IPL auction 2017. Rashid, who was bought by Sun Risers Hyderabad, became the second Afghanistan player to be picked to play in IPL, after Mohammad Nabi, who was earlier sold for INR 30 lakh.

Rashid was one of the pre-auction favourites to be snapped up by the teams. Rashid, 19, is a very tricky leg-spinner, who has taken 31 T20I wickets in 21 matches at an unbelievable average of 16 and an economy of just over 6. Rashid is also a decent batter who can play important cameos down the order.

Rashid was also the second highest wicket taker in the 2016 World T20. He is currently ranked fifth in the ICC T20I rankings and is above the likes Sunil Narine and R Ashwin.
