The IPL auction 2021 is being held in Chennai and all the teams are looking forward to making some additions to their squad. Punjab Kings entered the auctions with the biggest purse coming into the auctions. Even Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings were looking forward to creating a new core ahead of the much-awaited 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League.

The auction started with Steve Smith being sold to Delhi Capitals for ₹2.2 crores. However, everyone was left stunned after Glenn Maxwell’s name was announced and all the franchises got indulged in an intense bidding war. He was eventually bought by RCB for a whopping ₹14.25 crore.
The fans got another shock after Chris Morris was bought by Rajasthan Royals for ₹16.25 crore, which is the highest amount paid ever for any player in an IPL auction. Jhye Richardson was picked up for a huge amount of ₹14 crores by Punjab Kings.
