The IPL auctions for the year 2018 were spot on in the first phase as the first day of the auctions witnessed some spectacular purchases from excited franchises. Among the most enthusiast bidders was Preity Zinta from Kings XI Punjab who wanted to go for almost every good player in the format.

Punjab has done itself a lot good by buying some handsome batsman in the context of the format. Aaron Finch, Yuvraj Singh, KL Rahul and Karun Nair.

Form Preity Zinta’s surprising enthusiasm to Nita Ambani’s strange silence to Jhanvi Mehta, Juhi Chawla’s daughter being spotted at the auctions, the first day of the IPL auctions 2018 had a lot to offer and some spectacular purchases.

Ben Stokes, the swanky all-rounder form England was sold for 12.5 crores to the Rajasthan Royals and he ended up being the most expensive player sold in the day. As for Indian Players, KL Rahul and Manish Pandey were sold for 11 crores each. While KL Rahul was bought by the Kings XI Punjab, Manish Pandey was sold for 11 crores to the Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Mitchel Starc went to the KKR who also bought Chris Lynn and a bunch of Indian players like Dinesh Karthik, Nitish Rana, Piyush Chawla, Kamlesh Nagarkoti, Shubham Gill and Robbin Uthappa.

Home Coming For Gambhir and Yuvraj

Yuvraj Singh was bought by the Kings XI Punjab marking his comeback to his home team. Yuvraj was bought by the kings for 2 crores which were his base price. Gautam Gambhir, on the other hand, was sold to the Delhi Daredevils marking his homecoming too. The former captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders, Gautam Gambhir was sold for 2.8 crores to the Delhi Daredevils.
