IPL: Fans run ‘Save CSK’ campaign outside Chepauk stadium

A huge group of Chennai Super Kings enthusiasts gathered near the Pattabhiram gate of M.A. Chidambaram stadium on Saturday at 10 a.m for the “Save CSK” campaign which is being lead by H. Saravanan, a prominent fan who was seen sporting yellow paint during the team’s Indian Premier League (IPL) matches many a times.

Chennai Super Kings is the most successful franchise in the history of the Indian Premier League and it has a huge fan base, not only in Chennai but across India.

The campaign, that being held so that the suspension on the team gets revoked, will run until 5 in the evening today.

The official Twitter account of Chennai Super Kings posted a picture of the protest happening outside the stadium, saying,”This is true love! #whistlepodu to u #superfans.”

A ‘signature’ campaign is also going on along with the protest and these signatures would be sent as a petition to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Supreme Court of India. Chennai Super Kings fans are also taking the campaign to the social media with the official Facebook page of the two-time IPL champions promoting the event with the ‘savecsk’ hashtag.
