As Rajasthan Royals invited Kings XI Punjab to bat first on a very short Sharjah ground, everyone knew it was going to be a high scoring game, but the way the Rajasthan Royals started with the ball, it was perplexing as they were on the defense straightaway.
Rather than giving Jofra Archer the new ball and try and knock KL Rahul over early, they went with the young Indian speedster Ankit Rajpoot who hardly created any trouble for Rahul or Mayank. Ankit just ran in and bowled on a length that was dispatched to all corners by the KXIP opening duo.
Jofra Archer finally came on to bowl first change and to everyone’s surprise, he also started with a slower ball. Because of the dimensions of the ground, Jofra didn’t want to give the batsman any pace to work with and it was understandable, but what Rajasthan needed at that stage was a breakthrough even if it came at the cost of a couple of big hits.
The Rajasthan spinners also seemed to bowl the wrong lengths and bowled it too full. They needed to get the ball up and down and invite the KXIP batsmen to leave their crease and try and get to the pitch of the ball, but they bowled it at a length where the KXIP openers just smacked the ball from the crease itself. And then when they dragged the length after getting hit down the ground, they bowled it too short and allowed the batsmen to play the cut shot.
It was an out and out dismal bowling performance and the Twitterati came down hard on the Rajasthan bowlers for making it too easy for the KXIP batsmen. Here are the 10 most hilarious tweets on Rajasthan Royals’ bowling performance against KXIP –

The 16th over bowled by Ankit Rajpoot was the only over in this @lionsdenkxip innings where not a single 4 or 6 was hit. Tells you about the havoc that @mayankcricket and @klrahul11 have wreaked today on the @rajasthanroyals bowlers in Sharjah. #IPL2020 #RRvKXIP

The rise of Mayank Agarwal @mayankcricket. This is what confidence of being current player of your country do.
On other hand, for @rajasthanroyals you can't expect your bowling to fire when all you do is going mad after C-grade bowlers like Unadkant, spending crores.
