The IPL 2022 is less than a week away. The biggest cricket spectacle in the world is set to kick-off on March 26 with defending champions Chennai Super Kings taking on runner-up Kolkata Knight Riders.
While the board has brought the IPL back from UAE to India, the matches will be held in four stadiums across two cities. All the 70 league games will be played at four venues: Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai), Brabourne Stadium (Mumbai), DY Patil Stadium (Navi Mumbai) and Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium (Pune). Everyone involved will have to undergo a mandatory three-day isolation period before being allowed to practice in groups.
Mumbai Indians, the only team to have home games this season, have spent lakhs on their grand welcome for all other teams: the five-time champions have put up huge hoardings across Mumbai, welcoming other teams to the city.
MI has welcomed Rajasthan Royals with a message “HALLA BOL DIL KHOL KE”, Sunrisers Hyderabad: SHINE Karo DIL KHOL KE, Delhi Capitals: Khelo Dilli DIL Khol Ke.
For RCB the billboard read: “Welcome Royal Challengers Bangalore, Play Bold Dil Khol Ke”
RCB thanked MI for their touching gesture to welcome them into their city. They thanked them will their own hoarding, which read: “Thank you for the warm welcome Mumbai Indians Chalo Duniya Hila Denge Hum,” which has been MI’s motto all the years.

Mumbai Indians, meanwhile, have booked an entire luxurious hotel for its players and support staff and their families. Further, MI have also created a bio-secure recreational facility in 13,000 square meters for the players and families to relax in the tiring bio-bubble.
Speaking of RCB, the franchise recently named Faf du Plessis as their new captain as the franchise aims for its maiden IPL title. The former South African skipper will take over the captaincy reins from Virat Kohli, who relinquished the post last season after another trophyless year.
Both MI and RCB commence their respective campaigns on March 27, against Delhi and Punjab respectively.
