Former Indian cricketer turned commentator Sunil Gavaskar is known for his strong opinion on cricket, he never minces his words. His words and witty remarks never fail to impress and entertain the cricket fans. Keeping up with his funny antics, Sunil Gavaskar once again hogged all the limelight during an IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants.
Well, it happened during the match break when the screen was showing the beautifully lit Marine Drive of Mumbai. Showering praises on the beauty of Marine Drive, Sunil Gavaskar compared it to the Queen’s necklace. He also made a witty request from his fellow British commentator Alan Wilkins. He said:
“We are still awaiting the Kohinoor diamond”.
Alan Wilkins and Gavaskar both seemed to be in a light-hearted mood during this on-air banter. Wilkins, who burst out laughing after Gavaskar’s comment, said: “I wonder when that is coming”. Responding to this, Gavaskar asked Wilkins if he did possess any influence, he could ask the British government to return the Kohinoor.
The video of their hilarious on-air banter has been going viral on the internet. However, the video was wrongly attributed to Graeme Swann on Twitter, something that the commentator himself clarified.

Thank you, Sunil Gavaskar, for reminding Alan Wilkins about the Kohinoor diamond stolen by the British, for the latter could not stop going gaga over the 'Queen's Necklace', or what we know as the Marine Drive.
