IPL 2023 Auction: CSK Have Decided To Release These Two Overseas Fast Bowlers
Chennai Super Kings are making swift activities regarding the retention and releasing of players ahead of the IPL 2023, and the franchise has decided to part ways with two overseas international fast bowlers - Chris Jordan and Adam Milne, according to TOI.
The IPL 2023 mini-auction is slated for December 16. And the deadline for the franchises to finalize and send their list of retained and released players is November 15.
According to a report in TOI, the 4-time champions have made up their mind on releasing England’s Chris Jordan, who they had bought for 3.6 crore in the mega-auction last time, and New Zealand quick Adam Milne, who was purchased for 1.9 crores.
Jordan featured in 4 IPL 2022 matches, snapping only 2 wickets while leaking runs at a high economy of 10.51, failing to live up to his billing of a death-overs specialist, and couldn’t close out games with the ball.
Adam Milne, known for his express pace, got injured in his first game of the season and was ruled out for the remainder of the tournament. Milne has had injury issues over the past few years, mostly missing games for New Zealand and in the IPL than being on the field. CSK had roped in Matheesha Pathirana, the young Sri Lankan pacer with the slingy action, who was impressive in a couple of games and probably will be retained instead of Milne.
MS Dhoni demands Ravindra Jadeja stay at CSK
The biggest retention news from the CSK camp is that Ravindra Jadeja is likely to stay with the franchise after skipper MS Dhoni intervened amid the reports of Jadeja being upset with the franchise for his sacking mid-season as the captain.
Jadeja had been miffed by CSK following his axing as the skipper in his maiden captaincy stint. He hadn’t been in contact with the franchise after the IPL and had also deleted most photos of him in CSK on his Instagram.
Now, MS Dhoni has intervened in this matter and made it clear to CSK that Jadeja is irreplaceable. So now it seems that the all-rounder is likely to continue with CSK. Dhoni wasn’t pleased with CSK pondering trading Axar Patel for Jadeja with Delhi Capitals.
