As days come closer for the thirteenth edition of India’s most flamboyant cricketing fiesta, speculations keep on growing about our favorite players, and more importantly, the wait grows endless and unbearable as the Indian fans have been kept from their favorite game to resume for more than eight months now.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, MS Dhoni

Give IPL’s remarkable status of previously catapulting unheralded callous youngsters to unfathomable prominence, it also gifted a crop of talented players who did come to the brink of making it to the national team with a few glittering showdowns, however, failed to break the final barrier and eventually had to keep them satiated with domestic performances that also include IPL.

We will look at five uncapped Indian cricketers who managed to notch up the highest number of runs in the entirety of the fray until now.

Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson

Currently touted to be the second-best pick for stepping in the wicket-keeping boots of MS Dhoni, Sanju Samson has been one of the most consistent and extremely underrated cricketers to have played in IPL.

Still awaiting a national call-up where his calculations got disrupted after Pant made a significant breakthrough with some magical performances, Samson leads the list of uncapped Indian run-scorers with 2583 runs from 106 games. More importantly, he has also managed to blast two blistering tons that sets him apart as a budding talent.

Suryakumar Yadav

The man who played tournament-defining knocks for KKR coming out at number 6 or 7, found his rhythm, once he got a promotion to the higher slots of the innings in Mumbai. A sensational stroke-player, Yadav penned a brilliant knock that almost notched him up the national call up but with a late slump in form, things will take time to settle down.

Yadav has managed to rack up 1910 runs from 97 games that saw him scoring at a brilliant average of 29.84 while his strike rate has been 131.96. The numbers underline this lad’s tactical brilliance and also augur a scintillating future for him.

Nitish Rana

A rising moniker in the echelons of India’s domestic cricket, Nitish Rana has been an absolutely phenomenal batsman in the middle-order. A man whose talent repertoire boasts of possessing the perfect blend of aggression and calm, he can suit himself to the needs of his team.

Rana has amassed 1437 runs from 59 games where he hammered at a breezy strike rate of 134.61 and a pretty good average of 28.74.

Ishan Kishan

The Mumbai wicket-keeping batsman has stunned everyone with the way that he has carried on with his game throughout the season. He was a totally transformed cricketer when he took on the field against Bangalore that saw Mumbai almost walking away with the bragging rights only to be denied by a Super Over.
He has punched heroically above his weight and has played some aggressive strokes that impressed the management, eventually propelling him to the opening slot in place of an injured Rohit Sharma. He repaid their faith in the same coin playing some cracking strokes and a couple of blistering innings. He has managed to garner 1018 runs from 47 games at a fine average of 24.82.

Manan Vohra

Vohra’s ability to keep his signature calm in hell or high waters can even take MS Dhoni by surprise. An extremely talented batsman is still to burst onto the scene of glitterati, given his unfortunate dalliance with inconsistency.

However, when he gets going, he can be an absolute monster, taking out bowlers one at a time. He has managed to garner 1012 runs from 49 games that also feature a brilliant 95 as his career-best figure.

Manvinder Bisla

His enthralling innings in the 2012 World Cup that saw KKR lift the trophy for the first time left everyone in awe. However, that innings also served as a crescendo for the unheralded wicketkeeper as he shortly lost his way thereafter.

He managed to rack up 798 runs from 39 games that still ranks him as one of the best uncapped Indians to have ever played in the tournament, however, it wasn’t concrete enough for him to cement his place in the abode of greats.
