Irfan Pathan Came To The Rescue Of CSK Cobbler Who Was Dependant On IPL 2020

The only positives that have come out of the Coronavirus pandemic are that the crisis has brought out the best in several people around the world. There have been many heart-touching instances of humanity winning everyone’s hearts amidst the pandemic.

Now, another instance has come forward on social media that has won everyone’s heart. Well, the former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan has emerged out as a savior for the needy in these difficult times. Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan have been doing their bit for the needy during the pandemic times.




Well, as the cricket activities around the world have come to a halt because of the Coronavirus pandemic. The 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League was suspended because of the pandemic till further notice. And it is no surprise that the same has made a profound impact on those people who were indirectly dependent on it for their livelihood.

Among many, a man named Bhaskaran, who is the official cobbler of the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai was brought to the brink of starvation because of the pandemic. However, Irfan Pathan pulled the man out of his drudgery. When Irfan read a report by a media and got to know about the condition of the cobbler, he decided to donate him a sum of Rs. 25,000.




Talking to a media daily, Bhaskaran revealed:

“Last week Irfan Pathan sent ₹25,000. I bought groceries for the family. Since there was no work, I had borrowed money and have to pay it back. I don’t know how I will survive. If cricket doesn’t return soon, I will be gone,”

He added:

“My sons are without any job and have their families now. I had some savings and managed with that. Had I known such a day will come, I would have saved more.” 

Several prominent personalities are taking to social media and are showering praises and love on the former Indian cricketer.
