Irfan Pathan Posted A Beautiful Message For Yusuf Pathan After He Went Unsold

IPL 2020 auction saw many unexpected twists and turns takes by IPL franchises. While many known names of domestic cricket being roped in by IPL franchises, mostly at their base prices in order to fill up the number of spots in the squad. On the other hand, many big names went unsold at the auctions.

Yusuf Pathan was among the big names who went unsold in the IPL 2020 Auction.




At one point, Yusuf Pathan was one of the most talked-about cricketers in the Indian Premier League. He had his base price at  INR 1 crore, but the all-rounder failed to find a buyer at the IPL 2020 Auction. This will be the first time that Yusuf Pathan will miss the season of the Indian Premier League since its inception.

Yusuf Pathan has had a very illustrative IPL career. In the first season of IPL, Yusuf Pathan scored 435 runs and took 8 wickets for Rajasthan Royals. He also scored the fastest half-century (21 balls) of the season.




In 2014, he did that once again while playing for Kolkata Knight Riders, Yusuf Pathan once again smashed the fastest half-century (15 balls) in the history of IPL.

Yusuf Pathan had a nightmare outing in the last season of IPL. He played a total of 10 matches, scoring a just 40 runs at an average of 13.33, where his high score went to 16* only. He bowled just six balls in the entire season, going wicketless. Yusuf Pathan played the last two seasons (2018 & 2019) for Sunrisers Hyderabad, however, he was released by the franchise ahead of IPL 2020 Auction.

After the auctions, when Yusuf Pathan went unsold, his younger brother and Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan took to his Twitter and wrote a heartfelt post for his brother. Praising his outstanding career, Irfan Pathan wrote:

“Small hiccups doesn’t define your career,you have been outstanding thru out. A real match winner. Love you always Lala @iamyusufpathan”
