A few months back the former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan had announced his retirement from international cricket bringing an end to his glorious career. Irfan is one of the finest all-rounders India has produced. All thanks to his mesmerizing bowling spells that not just he became a World T20 champion but also went on to become a cult hero for the youngsters.
Irfan Pathan contributed a lot to Indian cricket, however, he didn’t get many opportunities because of injuries and form issues, especially after the Greg Chappell era. He played his last match in 2012 for India in a T20I against South Africa.
Lately, fans are witnessing the brilliance of Irfan Pathan once again in the ongoing Road Safety World Series. Recently, in the second match against Sri Lanka legends, Irfan Pathan led his side to victory after giving a match-winning performance. He made a brilliant 57* with 3 sixes and 6 fours in just 39 balls helping his team win by 5 wickets.
Social media was flooded with the posts and Tweets in appreciation of the former Indian cricketer. From cricketers to fans, everyone went gaga over the brilliance of Irfan Pathan. Amidst many, a Twitter user tried to put the feelings of every fan by asking BCCI if Irfan Pathan can make a comeback from retirement. The fan also gave an example of AB de Villiers, who recently came back from retirement. He wrote:
“Dear @BCCI can’t we ask @IrfanPathan to return back like @ABdeVilliers17 ??”
