Irfan Pathan was once hailed as one of the greatest all-rounders as he left everyone in awe of him in the very early days of his career. But his fall was as exponential as his rise and soon his career faded away.
The cricketer from Baroda was even ignored by the franchise owners in the IPL auctions which recently concluded.
Once hailed as the second version of Kapil Dev, Irfan now struggles to even find a place in his state’s team. This is how times change and this is another example of the fact that nothing remains forever, not even success.

Not just the IPL but Irfan was also unlucky to have not been picked for Baroda’s squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Irfan is at the lowest in his career and is trying hard to keep himself upbeat. He even ended his romance with Baroda’s Ranji team and sought a NOC to play for a different state.
After going unsold in the IPL auctions, the all-rounder shared an emotional message. This message is a gesture to keep himself upbeat despite hitting lows. Irfan took to Twitter to share an emotional message and his fans stood strong in his support.
Here is what Irfan Pathan Tweeted:
The worth of a person is according to his courage n his confidence #strong pic.twitter.com/3ShsKKjd2j
— Irfan Pathan (@IrfanPathan) January 31, 2018
Irfan perhaps hints at the fact that a person’s worth lies in his confidence and courage. This hints at the fact that this is rather a response to not finding any worth in the IPL auctions. Irfan Pathan’s base price was 50 Lakhs and it is only unfortunate that he attracted no buyers.
BROTHER GOES TO SUNRISERS HYDERABAD
Brother Yusuf Pathan, however, was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Yusuf Pathan was sold for 1.9 crores to Sunrisers Hyderabad. Irfan was, however, ignored by the franchise owners.
