Irfan Pathan was unhappy by the manner in which he was removed from the captaincy by Baroda just after two matches. He was then left high and dry by Baroda Cricket Association when he was not picked for the squad to play the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, a domestic T20 cricket league in India.

Irfan Pathan has been in search of new opportunities and has been willing to play for a different state. Irfan Pathan has played for Baroda for 17 long years and he is certainly not happy about being ignored by Baroda like this for the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. As per reports, Irfan Pathan is very likely to be associated with the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association as either a player or a mentor.

Irfan Pathan made his last appearance for India in 2012. Since then he has only featured in the domestic cricket leagues and now he is willing to change his team and is reportedly nearing the confirmation of his inclusion into the Jammu and Kashmir team. Irfan Pathan is on the last leg of his negotiations with Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, the head of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association.

A senior member of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association introduced Irfan Pathan to Ashiq Hussain Bukhari and also recommended his inclusion.

The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association will hold a meeting on January 24 to take a call on the inclusion of Irfan Pathan into the Jammu and Kashmir side. Currently, the head of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association is traveling and the final decision will only be taken after he returns to India.
